Hibbs?

It has recently come to my attention that both Chief Justice Rehnquist and Justice O’Connor are both from Arizona and both attended Stanford Law. Where they dated. Renky and Sandra. Eeeeuw. I can’t erase the awful images burned into my mind, so I thought I’d share.

fellow drinker!

Please welcome my fellow drinker, Plainsman! He usually lives at Sub Judice, but I have invited him to share his randomness here.

oopsy

so, now i've gone and made this page totally unreadable in netscape, but it looks better in internet explorer. sort of. if your screen is large enough. shit.

ooo, i think i got it. and unbelievably enough, you can actually read it in netscape. doesn't look super duper great, but readable.

THANKS Kathy, for your super-duper help!

ronald mcdonald is the spawn of satan

this is so scary, i don't even know where to begin!

To preserve the illusion that there is only one Ronald, the chain forbids two Ronalds from ever appearing together except at a secret biennial convention McDonald's holds -- but won't talk about -- in which Ronalds brush up on their skills.

i have awful memories of the evil floppy clown in my bedroom.

summer goals

1. Use up all the leftovers. You name it, I have more than one of it. Moisturizer, body wash, laundry detergent, cleaning supplies, I have multiple containers of it. Usually with only a bit left. This goes for pantry items too. I have already made progress, having used up one of the detergents tonight for laundry, and the can of tuna yesterday. Yay.
2. Find some interesting links to put in the blogroll for this site. Any suggestions? (this is not really a goal, but whatever.) I am adding the Boston Phoenix, because there is so much there (news, things to do, shopping, food).
3. Very important: get a tan. After months in libraries and other such places, I am positively pasty. I need vitamin D!
4. Do all the fun Boston stuff that I haven't done in all the time I've lived here.
5. Take more pictures.

I don't remember what else right now (got carried away rummaging for my favorite strawberry lip gloss). I'm sure I'll remember eventually!

6. Watch movies. I have 476 movies in my Netflix rental queue. Ouch.

Boston Magazine's Events

MFA Calendar

the official visitor's guide to boston pretty much blows, but it has to be sanitized for placement in visitors' rooms (and have generic events so that it is current) here's its event calendar. the regular content may give you some good ideas.

BBJ's calendar, if you're kind of a dork.

general yearly big events

wow. this is pretty cool. too bad we don't have one of these for the greater boston area, but if you're in central mass, check out social web.

and, of course, the events list on the mother of all sites, craigslist boston events! hell, if you're bored, don't even bother going out, just read craigslist.

now your life should be complete.

laundry

i have an entire pile of laundry growing out of control. instead of doing laundry last night, i wasted at least an hour of my life playing neopets.

this morning, i couldn't find a shirt to wear.

my priorities need serious adjustment.

update: no, really, the neopet excursion was to explore the legal implications of avatars and other digital artifacts. really.

it's like the story of my life.

i just saw someone rollerskating (not blading, but with old-school rollerskates) outside wearing those ridiculous god-awful short-shorts and a chef's hat.

really.

bagels

when i was a kid, my mom sent off for this bagel necklace. it was really cool. the necklace was like a big fat shoelace with a real bagel strung on it decorated with facial features and my name.

i wish i could find some kitschy site online with a picture of one, but i can't. too bad. that was a really cool necklace.

(this post was prompted by a tuna fish sandwich on bagel. can + condiment + frozen bagel = actual food!)

the amazin' beer chiller

wouldn't be a better idea to just put the beer in the fridge first? i guess if you're so desperate to have cold beer NOW, you're not together enough to keep a supply.

lately my fridges have the primary purpose of keeping an ample supply of alcohol and diet coke chilled and ready to drink. i don't actually have food in them. just drinks and condiments.

ah. law school.

psst

fyi: i'm still just really talking to myself here, figuring out what i'm going to do with the thing. you'll want to come back when i say something about it over on a mad tea-party. till then, it's going to pretty freakin' boring.

i can't even believe it, but google isn't working. or is working intermittently.

don't they understand my burning desire to find more information on the cutest digital camera gift set ever?

sick and twisted

because my mind is warped, i thought it'd be fun to keep track of how many law review articles i read over the summer. (more of those than cases. can't decide whether that's fortunate or not).

will clean up the site's code a bit once the mysql database is up for the separate mt installation. i'm sure you know what i'm talking about.

no more trackback

for the few of you who've made it here so far,* i am taking trackback off drink me because it's wreaking havoc with a mad tea-party's technorati cosmos. maybe i'll come up with something cool later, maybe not. for now, back to work.

and it is so much fun, let me tell you!

* btw, good job!

update: i guess i didn't realize that the comments were screwing up my cosmos, too. comments can stay on until i make a new installation. this wouldn't be a problem if you could specify in technorati what was content stuff and what was innards.

"fun" pack

I almost forgot. The "listening to" is courtesy of w.bloggar and the Windows Media Player Fun Pack. I only downloaded w.bloggar for the media player plug-in functionality, but it's pretty cool. It prevents that whole problem of losing posts in web pages (which I do more frequently than one might expect).

Of course, when you have multiple blogs, you have to pick the right one to post to. Oopsy. Rebuilding a mad tea-party takes a long time.

getting schizophrenic

After pondering earlier today about what I'd be writing on over the summer, I decided that I needed a new place to write things that really don't fit the tenor or the style of a mad-tea party. Really, how many times must I corrupt the souls of pure, sweet 1Ls-to-be by regaling them with tales of post-finals drinking? Of course they -- and you -- can just visit here, but I thought it best to keep such things separate.

drink me is not intended to supplant my original blog, but to augment it. It's for more fleeting and ephemeral thoughts (for one thing, you might notice there aren't any individual blog entries). I'm not sure yet what it will turn into -- or even if it will last longer than the summer -- but it should at least be interesting. Already I have one cool (i.e., dorky) feature: you can see what I'm listening to when I write a post. Aren't you thrilled?

As usual, if you're not using a real browser, this page looks like crap. In Netscape, the right bar is missing, which is bad, yet I have no inclination to fix it.
